THE NAME
Inspired by the Tagalog word "tuko" which is a "gecko" in English, is a symbol of RESILIENCE. ANGUS is the last name of the creator of this brand, David Angus.
"ANGUSTUKO" was the nickname of David's father in his high school days. He was known for big hands which benefited him while he played basketball which is incredibly popular in the Philippines in the 1980s. But also resembled how he rose from his tough childhood in a humble home in Paranaque, Philippines.
Lastly, if you pronounce the name in a Tagalog accent, it will come out as "ITO ANG GUSTO KO" meaning "THIS IS WHAT I LIKE" in English.
